Sunny days in Chongqing are a rarity, especially from November to March. Sitting in my little home office right now I'm looking out onto a very rainy, dreary day at cars driving through puddles and fog hanging over the city. Posting these photos from our time at Hong En Si definitely makes me feel better!
I had initially discovered Hong En Si even existed via an Instagram post. God bless the people who tag exact locations when they post photos for the rest of us, those people deserve an award. So after discovering a beautiful shot of this temple park lit up at nighttime I was determined to find it.

Apparently there is another Zhong Shan Gu Zhen in Guangdong province, but we didn't go there! This is considered an Ancient Village, like Ci Qi Kou, but definitely less popular with the tourists. I personally preferred that, because it wasn't crowded and we had the opportunity to talk to the locals and even drink homemade bai jiu!

Little did we know, we were no where near the Chongqing version of Central Park... but it was still beautiful and definitely worth it to get away from the busy city and traffic for even just a few hours during the day.

From apartment buildings to office buildings and cafes, every building is either completely or partially covered in graffiti art. I spent the afternoon exploring the area and testing out my new Zhiyun Smooth Q stabilizer for my iPhone.

Of course, I was extremely nervous to climb to the upper most section of the rooftop, but it was exhilarating and made for a great photo or two.

The area is now more popular for hosting one of the transformers movies, but the landscape speaks for itself. After a downpour of rain cleared, the fog and mist that was left behind made for an incredible experience.

This exhibit was one of the most stunning art installations I have seen since moving to Toronto. I wanted to own nearly every single piece... if only I had a giant warehouse to own it all.

Korean food is my favourite food (my second favourite is Persian food) and I lived on bibimbap, spicy tofu soups, bulgogi and dukpoki for nearly a month. This was also the thinest I have ever been... something definitely in their food that lets you eat insane amounts and stay thin.
